First off, it’s VAH-REEN-ah · Sh-aw-n-eh-s-ee.
But my friends call me V.
I’m a creative producer and filmmaker based in Portland, Oregon, and I believe the best way to connect with others is through story.
As a natural extrovert with Southern roots, I’ve always been a people person. I’m the type who walks into a brewery and leaves knowing the bartender’s life story. I’m wired to foster authentic human connections, driven by an insatiable desire to make the world a better place.
My storytelling journey began while working with nonprofits in East Africa and Southeast Asia. There, I discovered the transformative power of real, human stories. Stories have the ability to change hearts, move minds, humanize enemies, communicate complex concepts, and inspire action. That realization shaped my career and continues to fuel my passion for creating narratives that connect, inspire, and create change.
Today, I work as the Creative Producer at Fujifilm North America, collaborating with the marketing team to develop impactful campaigns and stories. My past work includes projects for Four Seasons Hotels & Resorts, Iron Mountain, Banfield Pet Hospital, the Oregon Bureau of Land Management, and United Health. No matter the industry, I strive to craft meaningful narratives that resonate with diverse audiences.
Armed with a love for connection and an eye for beauty, I’m always looking for ways to make the world a little brighter— one story at a time. I’m always open to new collaborations, so if you want to connect, let’s talk! Just don’t be surprised if you end up with an invitation to pizza night so I can hear your story.
