Chasing Wind

Lens Launch film by Fujifilm
ROLE: Producer, Story Producer

In the summer of 2024, Fujifilm introduced the XF500mmF5.6 lens. As part of the global launch campaign, we collaborated with photographers across the U.S. to create a project that would highlight the lens’s features.

In my role at Fujifilm U.S., I work closely with all our photographers—helping them develop their projects and creative direction. Occasionally, I get to step into the field as a producer, and this time, I had the chance to join my good friend, photographer Justin Myers, along with the incredibly talented director Dmitry Koshutin, on set.

After brainstorming, we landed on Wing Foiling in Hood River, OR—one of the windiest places on Earth. There was just one problem: no wind.

What followed was three weeks of chasing the elements. Our incredible team adapted to Mother Nature’s unpredictability and kept spirits high through each early morning call time. Thankfully, we had the best wing foiler in the world, Chris McDonald, who could jump with even the tiniest waves. Chris made epic moves look effortless.

In the end, the wait was worth it.
